SHORT BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

Dr. Subhrajit Dutta is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at National Institute of Technology Silchar. He completed his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in 2017, where he was a recipient of the MHRD (GoI) scholarship for Graduate study. Subhrajit received his Bachelor of Technology degree in Civil Engineering from National Institute of Technology Silchar in 2010. After his B.Tech, he joined Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Guwahati Refinery, where he served for about 2 years before joining IIT Bombay for his Post-Graduate study. He was working as an Assistant Professor in NIT Meghalaya after his PhD, and joined his position at NIT Silchar in June, 2018. Subhrajit’s research group is currently working on areas like, probabilistic structural mechanics, system reliability/risk analysis, uncertainty quantification, structural optimization under uncertainty, structure & infrastructure resilience, machine/deep learning, risk-based decision making, to mention a few. Subhrajit is the Associate Editor of Practice Periodical on Structural Design and Construction, ASCE and the Review/Guest Editor for various prestigeous journals. He serves as a reviewer for Reliability Engineering and System Safety; ASCE Journal of Structural Engineering; Structural Engineering and Mechanics; Structures; ASCE-ASME Journal of Risk and Uncertainty in Engineering Systems, Part A: Civil Engineering. He was working as a visiting scholar in the Department of Civil Engineering at Aalto University, Finland during December, 2019 and November-December, 2021. Subhrajit was also an external/invited researcher in the Department of Civil Engineering (Structural Division), Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto, Portugal.
