SHORT BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

Dr. Rajarshi Pramanik received the Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) Degree in Construction Engineering in 2009 from Jadavpur University. After graduation, he worked for about 2 years in Civil Engineering industry. He has done his master’s degree (M.E.) with the specialization in Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering in the Department of Civil Engineering from Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur, in 2014 and stood First (1st) in this department. He has completed his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Kharagpur in 2020 with the specialization in Geotechnical Engineering. He has been awarded the National Postdoctoral Fellowship (NPDF), sponsored by DST-SERB, Govt. of India, in December, 2020 and worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Civil Engineering at Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru from January, 2021 to January, 2023. He also worked there as a Research Associate-II from January, 2023 to July, 2023. He worked as an Assistant Professor for three months in the Department of Civil Engineering, Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering before joining the Department of Civil Engineering, National Institute of Technology Silchar as an Assistant Professor Grade-II in November, 2023. His current research area focuses on the reliability assessment of different types of geo-structures using surrogate models.
